Galatasaray Istanbul is the new #EuroBelt champion #GSODDI

Galatasaray Istanbul scored an impressive 85-81 victory over Darussafaka Istanbul and became the new Eurobelt Champion. They relied on outstanding performances from its players despite playing without two of its point guards, while handing Darussafaka a loss in the first fight where they defended the Belt.

Tibor Pleiss erupted for 22 points, 8 rebounds and 3 blocks and Emir Preldzic handled extended playmaking duties and responded with17 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. Vladimir Micov added 16 points and 6 assists for the winners. Will Clyburn paced the Darussafaka attack with 20 points, James Anderson tallied 15 points and 7 rebounds and Scottie Wilbekin added 14 points.



Galatasaray Istanbul will defend the Eurobelt in their arena next November 25th against F.C. Barcelona, an European superpower in need of a convincing win. For the Spanish team it will be its first Eurobelt fight this season. Galatasaray Istanbul, with a record of 1-1 in EuroBelt matches, is looking forward to keeping the Belt.

Darussafaka Istanbul defeats the champion and grabs the #EuroBelt


Darussafaka Istanbul defeated reigning champion CSKA Moscow 91-83 at home on November 16th and grabbed the Euroleague Championship Belt. CSKA Moscow had remained undefeated in the previous six EuroBelt matches.

James Anderson led the new EuroBelt champion with 20 points on 5-of-9 three-point shooting. Brad Wanamaker collected 18 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals, Will Clyburn added 14 points and Adrien Moerman 11. Cory Higgins and Nando De Colo led CSKA Moscow with 17 points apiece. Milos Teodosic added 15 and 10 assists, while Kyle Hines had 11 points and 8 rebounds for the visitors. Darussafaka made 10 of 21 three-point shots (47.6%) and forced CSKA into 18 turnovers.



Darussafaka Istanbul will play at Galatasaray Istanbul its next EuroBelt game on November 18th in a local derby. Galatasaray Istanbul, with a record of 0-1 in EuroBelt matches, is looking forward to not missing this opportunity of becoming EuroBelt Champions.

CSKA leads from tipoff to buzzer to remain undefeated in #EuroBelt matches

The CSKA Moscow remains undefeated in EuroBelt matches after a 75-81 road victory over Olympiacos Piraeus in which the champs led from the opening tip to the final buzzer. The score was deceptive as CSKA's lead was 10 points or higher from the second quarter till the last couple of minutes. And even when Olympiacos came close at the end, Nando De Colo was on hand with a big shot for the champs. CSKA is 5-0 this season. De Colo, last season's MVP, paced the winners with 23 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists. Georgios Printezis was the big gun for Olympiacos with 26 points and 7 rebounds.



CSKA Moscow will host Real Madrid in its next EuroBelt game on November 11th in a clash of titans.
